CVE-2026-124312 · Package
NO FIX YET
VVdeC, Fraunhofer's VVC video decoder, reads past a heap buffer when a crafted bitstream uses a smaller collocated reference picture with error concealment enabled. An attacker can crash the decoder by supplying such a video stream.

Applications that decode untrusted VVC streams with the VVdeC library, where error concealment is enabled, are exposed to a crash. Systems that decode only trusted content or do not use VVdeC can skip it. The sources do not give more detail on the affected configuration.
Not affected if trusted-input-only, vvdec-not-used

No fix yet, per the sources.
Fraunhofer HHI VVdeC through 3.2.1 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability that allows attackers to crash the decoder by supplying a collocated picture of different resolution. Attackers can craft a VVC bitstream enabling TMVP with a smaller collocated reference picture, causing getColInfo to read past the colMotion allocation when error concealment is enabled.
