Sites running the VikRentCar Car Rental Management System plugin at version or earlier. Exploitation requires an account with at least Contributor role, so sites with no contributor-level users are less exposed. The sources also describe a path through the REST API and block preview that bypasses WordPress magic quotes, so sites that allow contributor accounts to create posts are the main concern.

The VikRentCar Car Rental Management System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to blind SQL Injection via the 'catid' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.10 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. A Contributor-level user can store a malicious block via the REST API in a pending post and trigger server-side rendering by previewing that post, bypassing wp_magic_quotes since the attribute is sourced from post_content via parse_blocks rather than a superglobal.
