The FV Flowplayer Video Player WordPress plugin does not sanitize the 'comment' parameter, so an unauthenticated visitor can submit a comment with a malicious shortcode that stores script on the site. When an administrator approves that comment and a visitor interacts with the video player on that page, the script runs in the visitor's browser.

Sites running the FV Flowplayer Video Player plugin up to and including 7.5.55.7212 with the 'Parse Vimeo and YouTube links' option enabled. Exploitation also requires an administrator to approve the malicious comment, so sites without that option or that moderate comments closely carry less risk. Sites without this plugin are not affected.

The FV Flowplayer Video Player plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'comment' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.5.55.7212 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This requires the 'Parse Vimeo and YouTube links' option to be enabled and a site administrator to approve the comment containing the malicious shortcode; execution is then triggered for any visitor who interacts with the video player on that page.
