The cause was increased latency in an internal caching service that GitHub Copilot Code Review relies on to coordinate its review jobs. This caused a timeout in lock acquisition, which interrupted the job. We reverted the change to the internal caching service and restored normal operation by 20:00 UTC.We sincerely apologize for the disruption.","summary":null,"severity":"medium","cvss":null,"epss":null,"exploited":false,"exploited_at":null,"products":[{"name":"GitHub","fixed":[],"affected":"","ecosystem":"vendor"}],"ecosystems":["vendor"],"tags":["ci","git","github","incident","ops","vendor"],"not_affected_if":[],"how_to_check":null,"fix":null,"status":"resolved","published_at":"2026-09-15T19:11:31+00:00","first_seen_at":"2026-10-23T19:12:22+00:00","triaged_at":"2026-10-23T21:50:49+00:00","updated_at":"2026-10-23T21:50:49+00:00","category":"vendor","confidence":null,"triage":null,"analyst_status":null,"analyst_note":null,"search":"'00':27C,87C '15':20C,23C '20':26C,86C '2026':21C '30':24C 'acquisit':67C 'apolog':90C 'bk7zgdcq7s9t':10A 'cach':47C,79C 'caus':40C,62C 'chang':75C 'ci':12B 'code':31C,52C 'complet':38C 'coordin':57C 'copilot':30C,51C 'disrupt':2A,93C 'fail':36C 'git':13B 'github':1A,5A,9A,11A,14B,50C 'inc':8A 'inc-github-bk7zgdcq7s9t':7A 'incid':15B 'increas':42C 'intern':46C,78C 'interrupt':69C 'job':60C,71C 'latenc':43C 'lock':66C 'normal':83C 'op':16B 'oper':84C 'pull':34C 'reli':54C 'request':35C 'restor':82C 'revert':73C 'review':32C,53C,59C 'septemb':19C 'servic':6A,48C,80C 'sincer':89C 'timeout':64C 'utc':28C 'utc.we':88C 'vendor':17B","nicknames":[],"mitigations":[],"who_affected":null,"tier":null,"verified":{},"analyst_revisit_at":null,"first_public_at":"2026-09-15T19:11:31+00:00","kev":null,"cvss_vector":null,"cvss_by":null,"poc_count":0,"sources":[{"source":"statuspage","external_id":"github:bk7zgdcq7s9t","url":"https://stspg.io/tbh60vgxfxj6","severity":"medium","published_at":"2026-09-15T19:11:31+00:00","modified_at":"2026-09-18T17:08:48+00:00","first_seen_at":"2026-10-23T19:12:22+00:00","fetched_at":"2026-10-25T20:33:45+00:00","note":null}],"documents":[],"notice":"Free to read at a human pace.
