# Linux kernel: anx7411 USB-C driver can queue work after teardown

In the Linux kernel's ANX7411 USB Type-C driver, the interrupt handler can still schedule work while the driver is being removed, because the interrupt was not disabled before its workqueue was destroyed. The sources do not describe a concrete attacker outcome, so this reads as a driver teardown race fixed in the kernel.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- `uname -r` to see the running kernel version
- `lsmod | grep anx7411` to check whether the anx7411 Type-C driver is loaded
- unknown whether the sources list affected kernel version ranges

## Fix

- Update to a Linux kernel release that includes the upstream fix (the sources do not list fixed version numbers)
- unknown which distribution kernel package carries the fix

## Timeline

## From the sources

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

usb: typec: anx7411 - stop the IRQ before destroying the workqueue

The IRQ is devm-managed, so it can still queue plat->work while
remove() is tearing the queue down. Disable it first.
