Go to dashboardIn the Linux kernel's Qualcomm Iris video decoder driver, runtime power management usage counts can leak when power domain enabling or disabling fails. The sources describe a reference-balancing fix and do not describe an attacker-triggered impact.

Systems running a Linux kernel with the Qualcomm Iris video driver, typically Qualcomm-based devices that use hardware video decode. Systems without this driver or without Qualcomm Iris hardware can skip it. The sources do not say whether the leak is reachable by an unprivileged user.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: qcom: iris: fix runtime PM reference leaks
Use pm_runtime_resume_and_get() in iris_enable_power_domains() to avoid leaking a runtime PM usage count on failure.
Also ensure pm_runtime_put_sync() is always called in iris_disable_power_domains(), even when iris_opp_set_rate() fails, so runtime PM references remain balanced.
