# AOS-10 PAPI protocol authentication bypass lets adjacent attackers change device settings

The PAPI protocol in AOS-10 has an authentication bypass that lets an unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network reach controls that should require login. A successful attacker can change the state of certain settings on the vulnerable system.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

An authentication bypass in the PAPI protocol of AOS-10 allows an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to circumvent existing authentication controls. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to change the state of certain settings of a vulnerable system.
