# WordPress ACF Extended: unauthenticated shortcode execution through form confirmation messages

The Advanced Custom Fields: Extended and Extended PRO WordPress plugins, versions 0.9.2.4 through 0.9.2.7, do not consistently disable shortcode processing in front-end form confirmation messages. An unauthenticated visitor who submits a form whose stored configuration lacks the setting can get arbitrary shortcodes run on the server.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins, or with `wp plugin get acf-extended --field=version` (plugin slug unknown; confirm in the sources)
- Review front-end forms built with the plugin for a confirmation message that is not set to disable shortcodes

## Fix

- Update Advanced Custom Fields: Extended and Extended PRO to a version later than `0.9.2.7` (exact fixed version unknown)

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:33+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-94263
- 2026-10-25T12:38:51+00:00 epss https://api.first.org/data/v1/epss?cve=CVE-2026-94263

## From the sources

The Advanced Custom Fields: Extended and Advanced Custom Fields: Extended PRO WordPress plugins from 0.9.2.4 to 0.9.2.7 do not consistently disable shortcode processing in the confirmation message of their front-end forms, allowing unauthenticated visitors to have arbitrary shortcodes executed server-side when they submit a form whose stored configuration does not carry the relevant setting.
