# Soledad WordPress theme: stored XSS via social profile fields

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-93902 (this .md is for agents)

The Soledad theme for WordPress, up to and including 8.7.7, does not sanitize social profile fields. A subscriber-level account can store a script there that runs in the browser of any visitor who opens that user's public author archive page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Soledad theme version in the WordPress admin under Appearance > Themes; versions up to and including `8.7.7` are affected.
- Look for subscriber accounts with social profile fields containing script tags or unusual HTML.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:46:08+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-93902

## From the sources

The Soledad theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Social Profile Fields in all versions up to, and including, 8.7.7 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The injected payload is scoped to the attacker's own user meta but is exposed publicly on their author archive page at /author/<slug>/, which is accessible to unauthenticated visitors regardless of whether the attacker has published any posts.
