# Patreon WordPress plugin: open redirect lets attackers send visitors to phishing sites

The Patreon WordPress plugin before 1.10.0 redirects visitors to a destination taken from the request without checking it. An attacker can craft a link on the site's domain that sends users to any external URL, which is useful for phishing.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Patreon plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins, or with `wp plugin get patreon --field=version` if WP-CLI is available.
- Look for the plugin's redirect parameter handling in the plugin code, which the sources do not name.

## Fix

- Update the Patreon WordPress plugin to `1.10.0` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:14+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-92432

## From the sources

The Patreon WordPress plugin before 1.10.0 does not validate a user-supplied redirect destination before redirecting, allowing unauthenticated attackers to redirect visitors to an arbitrary external URL through a crafted link, which is useful for phishing.
