# Dell Alienware Command Center: unsigned update code can run with elevated rights

Alienware Command Center versions before 6.14.54.0 do not properly verify cryptographic signatures. A local attacker with high privileges can use this to escalate privileges and run arbitrary code.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Alienware Command Center version in the application's About screen or Apps list
- Compare the installed version against `6.14.54.0`

## Fix

- Alienware Command Center: move to `6.14.54.0` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-11-02T20:35:38+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-91899

## From the sources

Dell Alienware Command Center (AWCC), versions prior to 6.14.54.0, contain an Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature vulnerability. A high privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of Privilege and Arbitrary Code Execution.
