# Oracle Essbase: Java Based Agent flaw leaks a subset of data

Oracle Essbase's Java Based Agent has a flaw that an unauthenticated attacker can reach over HTTP from the network. A successful attack gives read access to a subset of data Essbase can reach.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:oracle essbase affected = 21.8.3.0.0 fixed ?

## How to check

- Check the installed Essbase version against `21.8.3.0.0`, the affected version named in the sources
- Confirm whether the Java Based Agent component is running and reachable over HTTP from the network

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update that addresses this CVE (the fixed version is unknown from the sources)
- Restrict network access to the Java Based Agent endpoint until patched

## Timeline
