# Oracle Essbase: low-privileged HTTP attacker can access critical data

Oracle Essbase version 21.8.3.0.0 has a Security component flaw that lets a low-privileged user reach it over HTTP. Successful exploitation exposes critical data and, due to scope change, can affect other products.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:oracle essbase affected = 21.8.3.0.0 fixed ?

## How to check

- Confirm the installed Oracle Essbase version and compare it with `21.8.3.0.0`
- Check the Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory for the patched build (unknown from these sources)

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle security patch for Essbase from the Oracle Critical Patch Update (exact fixed version unknown from these sources)
- Restrict HTTP access to Essbase to trusted networks until patched

## Timeline
