# Oracle Database: Java VM flaw lets low-privileged users change data

A flaw in the Java VM component of Oracle Database Server lets a low-privileged attacker reach the database over the network via SOCKS5 and modify data the Java VM can access. Oracle rates it CVSS 6.3, with only integrity impact and a high attack complexity.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Oracle Database version against the affected ranges 19.3-19.32, 21.3-21.23 and 23.4.0-23.26.3.
- Confirm whether Java VM is installed in the database (unknown if the sources say how to query this).

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update that addresses CVE-2026-91615 for your database release (patch number unknown from the sources).

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Java VM component of Oracle Database Server. Supported versions that are affected are 19.3-19.32, 21.3-21.23 and 23.4.0-23.26.3. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows low privileged attacker having None privilege with network access via SOCKS5 to compromise Java VM. While the vulnerability is in Java VM, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Java VM accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 6.3 (Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:N).
