# Oracle REST Data Services: GraphQL flaw exposes data to low-privilege users

Oracle REST Data Services has a flaw in its GraphQL component affecting versions 24.2.0 through 26.2.1. A remote attacker with a low-privilege account over HTTP can read data they should not have access to.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Oracle REST Data Services version with `java -jar ords.war version` or the ORDS admin console (unknown if the sources give a different command)
- Confirm whether the GraphQL feature is enabled on the instance (unknown if the sources do not say how)

## Fix

- Upgrade Oracle REST Data Services to a release newer than `26.2.1` (the exact fixed version is unknown from the sources)
- Restrict HTTP access to ORDS endpoints until patched (unknown if the sources give a specific setting)
