# Oracle BI Publisher: unauthenticated HTTP flaw exposes all accessible data

Oracle BI Publisher's web server has a flaw that lets an unauthenticated attacker reach the product over HTTP. A successful attack gives unauthorized read access to critical data and everything BI Publisher can access.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed BI Publisher version against the affected list: `8.2.0.0.0`, `12.2.1.4.0` and `26.01.0.0.0`
- Confirm whether BI Publisher is reachable from untrusted networks over HTTP

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for BI Publisher, moving off `8.2.0.0.0`, `12.2.1.4.0` or `26.01.0.0.0`
- Restrict network access to BI Publisher until patched
