# Oracle BI Publisher: low-privilege HTTP attacker can read critical data

Oracle BI Publisher, part of Oracle Analytics, has a security flaw in its BI Publisher Security component that affects versions 8.2.0.0.0, 12.2.1.4.0 and 26.01.0.0.0. An attacker with a low-privilege account and network access over HTTP can gain unauthorized access to critical data the product can reach.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed BI Publisher version against the affected list: `8.2.0.0.0`, `12.2.1.4.0`, `26.01.0.0.0`
- unknown for other checks; the sources do not say how to confirm exposure beyond version

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for BI Publisher; the sources do not name the patched version or patch number
- unknown for configuration changes
