# Oracle E-Business Suite Purchasing: low-privilege network attack exposes critical data

Oracle E-Business Suite's Purchasing module, in versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15, has a flaw in its Internal Operations component that an attacker can reach over HTTP with a low-privilege account. A successful attack can read critical Purchasing data, change or delete some of it, and can reach other products because the scope changes.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Oracle E-Business Suite (Purchasing, Internal Operations) affected >= 12.2.3, <= 12.2.15 fixed October 2026 CPU patch (number in MOS)

## How to check

Confirm Purchasing is deployed on EBS 12.2.3-12.2.15. Then run the latest EBS CPU Checker (ECPUC, Patch 35583866, ECPUC.sql produces ECPUC.lst) to see whether the October 2026 CPU patches are applied. Oracle gives no exploit indicators.

## Fix

Apply the Oracle E-Business Suite October 2026 CPU/CSPU patches for 12.2 (released 2026-10-20). Oracle's EBS patch availability document (MOS, via KA923) gives the exact patch number, which I could not see without a MOS login. Unknown: the specific patch ID.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-25T03:34:58+00:00 analyst — Fix is in Oracle's October 2026 CPU (released 2026-10-20), not April as triage guessed; the CPU advisory lists EBS 12.2.3-12.2.15. I could not read this CVE's risk-matrix row (page truncated) and the patch number is only in MOS, so nothing is marked verified. No exploitation or PoC found (Armis also says none).

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Oracle Purchasing product of Oracle E-Business Suite (component: Internal Operations). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.3-12.2.15. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle Purchasing. While the vulnerability is in Oracle Purchasing, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle Purchasing accessible data as well as unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle Purchasing accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.1 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N).
