# Oracle Identity Manager REST flaw lets low-privilege users take over server

Oracle Identity Manager 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0 have a flaw in their REST web services component. An attacker with a low-privileged account over HTTP can fully take over the server, reading, changing and disrupting it.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Oracle Identity Manager affected 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.2.1.0 fixed ?

## How to check

Run Oracle Identity Manager 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0? Check the installed version and OPatch inventory (opatch lsinventory) against the October 2026 CPU Fusion Middleware patch availability document on My Oracle Support. Tenable plugin 370487 flags by version only. Also look at who can reach the OIM REST endpoints over HTTP: any low-privileged account is enough.

## Fix

Apply the Oracle Identity Manager patch from the October 2026 CPU (Fusion Middleware patch availability document on My Oracle Support). The exact patch number is unknown here: it needs a MOS login. Oracle names no workaround; limit network access to OIM REST endpoints until patched.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T23:55:10+00:00 analyst — Oracle October 2026 CPU lists Identity Manager 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0 (Fusion Middleware patch doc); Tenable plugin 370487 confirms the REST WebServices component. The exact patch number is behind My Oracle Support and was not readable. No workaround, no public PoC and no exploitation found; no X/Bluesky search done.
