# Oracle JDeveloper: privileged local user can modify data or crash IDE

Oracle JDeveloper 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 contain a flaw that lets a highly privileged local user with logon to the host change data or cause a repeatable crash. The advisory rates it CVSS 5.7 (medium), with integrity and availability impact only.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed JDeveloper version in Help > About or the install directory name, and compare against `12.2.1.4.0` and `14.1.2.0.0`
- unknown

## Fix

- Move JDeveloper to a release newer than `12.2.1.4.0` or `14.1.2.0.0` once Oracle publishes the patched build; the sources do not name the fixed version
- unknown
