# Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools: monitoring component allows data read and write

An unauthenticated attacker with HTTP access to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.2.0.0 through 9.2.26.5 can compromise the Monitoring and Diagnostics component. Successful exploitation needs a victim to interact, and can allow limited unauthorized reads, updates, inserts and deletes of accessible data.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed EnterpriseOne Tools release against `9.2.0.0` through `9.2.26.5` in the Oracle JD Edwards environment.
- Confirm whether the Monitoring and Diagnostics (SEC) component is reachable over HTTP from untrusted networks.

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools that moves past `9.2.26.5`.
- Restrict HTTP access to the Monitoring and Diagnostics component to trusted networks until patched.
