# Oracle Solaris 11.4: local low-privilege user can crash the system

A local user with a logon on a Solaris 11.4 host can trigger a hang or repeatable crash of the operating system's Services component. The sources describe only a denial of service, with no code execution or data exposure.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the release with `pkg info entire` or `uname -v` on each Solaris host.
- Confirm the host runs Solaris 11.4 as listed in the advisory.

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Solaris 11.4 security update that addresses CVE-2026-91244 via `pkg update` from the Oracle support repository.
- Check the Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory for the exact SRU number; unknown in the sources.
