# BSK PDF Manager WordPress plugin: SQL injection lets contributors read password hashes

The BSK PDF Manager WordPress plugin through 3.8.1 passes an unsanitised parameter into a SQL statement. An authenticated user with contributor-level access or above can use it to read sensitive data, such as administrator password hashes.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins, or with `wp plugin get bsk-pdf-manager --field=version` (slug assumed; confirm it)
- Look for the plugin's directory in `wp-content/plugins/` and read its version header

## Fix

- Update the BSK PDF Manager plugin to a version later than `3.8.1`; the sources do not name the fixed version
- If no fixed release exists, deactivate the plugin until one is available

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:14+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-91074

## From the sources

The BSK PDF Manager WordPress plugin through 3.8.1 does not properly sanitise and escape a parameter before using it in a SQL statement, which could allow authenticated users with contributor-level access and above to perform SQL injection attacks and read sensitive data such as administrator password hashes from the database.
