# Oracle E-Business Suite: Personalization flaw lets low-privilege users change critical data

A flaw in the Personalization component of Oracle Applications Framework, part of Oracle E-Business Suite, lets a low-privileged user reach it over HTTP. A successful attack, after another person interacts, can create, modify or delete critical data and read data the framework can access.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

Check the installed EBS release level against Oracle's patch advisory; affected versions are 12.2.3 through 12.2.15. Confirm the Oracle Critical Patch Update patch level on the EBS application tier.

## Fix

Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for Oracle Applications Framework (Personalization) listed in the Oracle advisory; the exact patch number is unknown from these sources.
Restrict HTTP access to EBS personalization pages until patched.
