# Oracle WebCenter Content: unauthenticated HTTP flaw exposes stored content data

Oracle WebCenter Content Server 14.1.2.0.0 has a flaw that lets an unauthenticated remote attacker over HTTP reach content it should not, with a victim user needing to take an action first. A successful attack can read critical data and change or delete some of it, and can affect other products in the same environment.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Oracle WebCenter Content version: `14.1.2.0.0` is the affected version listed in the advisory text
- unknown for other checks: the sources do not describe a configuration or file to inspect

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for WebCenter Content Server, per Oracle's advisory (version to move to: unknown)

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:25+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-87400

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server). The supported version that is affected is 14.1.2.0.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Content. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Content, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data as well as unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 6.9 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N).
