# Oracle HTTP Server: WebLogic proxy plug-in flaw exposes server data

Oracle HTTP Server's WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in has a flaw in versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. An unauthenticated attacker over HTTP, with high attack complexity, can read, modify or delete data OHS can reach, and the impact can extend to other products. Fixed in the October 2026 Critical Patch Update.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Oracle HTTP Server (WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in) affected 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.2.0.0 fixed Oct 2026 CPU patch (number unconfirmed)

## How to check

Find your OHS version with '$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch lsinventory' (or 'opatch lspatches') and see whether it is 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 with the Oct 2026 CPU patch missing. Also check whether mod_wl_ohs (the WebLogic proxy plug-in) is loaded in httpd.conf / mod_wl_ohs.conf. If it is not in use, you are likely less exposed (unverified).

## Fix

Apply the Oct 2026 Oracle CPU patch for Oracle HTTP Server / Fusion Middleware 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0. The patch number is in the Fusion Middleware patch availability document linked from https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpuoct2026.html (not confirmed here).

## Timeline

- 2026-10-24T00:01:54+00:00 analyst — Fixed in Oracle CPU October 2026 (20 Oct). Affected 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 per Tenable/Rapid7 (CVSS 8.7, AC:H, scope changed). Not in CISA KEV; Tenable says no known exploits. I did not find the patch number: it sits in the Oracle Fusion Middleware patch availability document (Doc ID in the CPU page), not on the pages I read. I did not search for social posts.

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Oracle HTTP Server product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Oracle Weblogic Server Proxy Plug-in for Oracle HTTP Server). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle HTTP Server. While the vulnerability is in Oracle HTTP Server, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle HTTP Server accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle HTTP Server accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 8.7 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).
