# Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Management Center: authentication bypass allows denial of service

Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Management Center has an authentication bypass by spoofing in several release lines. A low-privileged remote attacker can potentially exploit it to cause a denial of service.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Data Domain Management Center version in the appliance UI or CLI against the affected ranges: Feature Release 7.7.1.0 through 8.8, LTS2024 7.13.1.0 through 7.13.1.80, LTS2025 8.3.1.0 through 8.3.1.40, LTS2026 8.6.1.0 through 8.6.1.20.

## Fix

- Move to a fixed release from Dell's advisory for CVE-2026-86391; the sources do not name the fixed version numbers.
