# FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin: contributors can read internal server responses

The FV Flowplayer Video Player WordPress plugin fetches a user-supplied URL on the server without validating it, and stores the response publicly. A user with Contributor-level access or higher can use this to make the server request internal resources and read what comes back when the content type is an image.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the FV Flowplayer Video Player plugin in the WordPress admin under Plugins; unknown whether the sources give a specific check beyond this.
- Confirm whether Contributor-level or higher accounts can create or edit posts on the site.

## Fix

- FV Flowplayer Video Player plugin: move to `7.5.56.7212` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-05T06:31:52+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-85351

## From the sources

The FV Flowplayer Video Player WordPress plugin before 7.5.56.7212 does not validate a user-supplied URL before performing a server-side fetch whose response body is stored and served publicly, allowing users with Contributor-level access and above to perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks and to read the response of an internal resource when it is returned with an image content type.
