# Drupal PhotoSwipe gallery module: stored XSS through unsanitized input

The Drupal PhotoSwipe responsive image gallery module fails to neutralize input when generating web pages, enabling stored cross-site scripting. An attacker who can store content that the gallery renders can run JavaScript in other visitors' browsers.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed PhotoSwipe module version with `drush pm:list --filter=photoswipe` or in the Drupal admin under Extend
- Confirm whether the module is enabled on the site

## Fix

- Upgrade the Drupal PhotoSwipe module to a version later than `5.0.9`
- Until upgraded, restrict who can enter content into gallery fields
