# Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS (UK): flaw lets low-privilege users change HR data

Oracle E-Business Suite's HRMS (UK) module, in the Internal Operations component, has a flaw that lets an attacker with a low-privilege account over HTTP read and modify some HR records. Exploitation needs a person other than the attacker to take an action, and the impact can extend beyond HRMS to other products.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Oracle E-Business Suite version against the affected range `12.2.3` to `12.2.15` (unknown how the sources expect this to be read in your environment)
- Confirm whether the HRMS (UK) module is installed and in use
- Review Oracle's Critical Patch Update advisory for the patch that covers this CVE

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update that addresses CVE-2026-83371 to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.x (the specific patch name is unknown from the sources)
- Move to a supported E-Business Suite release newer than `12.2.15` if a patch is not yet available

## Timeline

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Oracle HRMS (UK) product of Oracle E-Business Suite (component: Internal Operations). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.3-12.2.15. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle HRMS (UK). Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle HRMS (UK), attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle HRMS (UK) accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle HRMS (UK) accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.4 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N).
