# Cisco Unified CM: crafted HTTP request bypasses access controls remotely

Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Unified CM Session Management Edition mishandle specific HTTP requests because input is not validated properly. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a crafted request to reach parts of the network beyond their intended access.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

A vulnerability in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct access control bypass attacks on an affected device.

This vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to access parts of the network that are beyond the scope of their intended access.
