# Cisco Unified Communications Manager: SQL injection flaws in several products

Cisco grouped internally found SQL injection bugs (CWE-89) under CVE-2026-76477. They affect Emergency Responder, Prime Collaboration Deployment, Unified CM, Unified CM IM&P, Unified CM SME and Unity Connection, whatever the configuration. Cisco rates it CVSS 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L), so an attacker needs a low-privileged login. The advisory does not name the vulnerable endpoints or say what data can be read or changed. Cisco says it is not aware of exploitation or public announcements, and there are no workarounds. Cisco found the bugs through internal testing, including frontier AI models.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Cisco Unified Communications Manager affected 14, 15 (before 15SU5) fixed 15SU5

## How to check

Check your release in Cisco Unified CM admin (or CLI: show version active). Release 14 and any 15 below 15SU5 are affected, on all six products. Advisory has no config-based exclusions.

## Fix

Upgrade to 15SU5 (all six products). Release 14 has no fixed release: migrate to 15SU5. No workarounds exist.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T23:48:41+00:00 analyst — Read Cisco advisory cisco-sa-voice-hardening-twgbH9e3 (2026-10-21). CVE-2026-76477 is the CWE-89 grouping in a hardening release covering many internally found bugs; CVSS 8.8 AV:N/PR:L means low-privileged authentication needed. Advisory names no entry points or data impact. Not known exploited, no workarounds. No social discussion checked (none apparent).

## From the sources

As part of Cisco's ongoing commitment to proactive security and product quality, engineering teams for Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM), Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service (Unified CM IM&P), Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME), and Cisco Unity Connection have conducted a comprehensive internal security review. This review resulted in software hardening releases that address multiple internally discovered vulnerabilities.

The vulnerabilities tracked by CVE-2026-76477 are related to issues concerning improper neutralization of special elements used in an SQL command that are grouped under the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) Base CWE-89.
