# Apache Kylin: unauthorized cross-project job manipulation on exposed servers

Apache Kylin versions 4 through 5.0.4 let a user manipulate jobs belonging to other projects without authorization. The description says the impact is mostly on Kylin services directly exposed to the public network.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Kylin version and whether it falls in `4.x` through `5.0.4`.
- Check whether the Kylin web or REST service is reachable from the public internet.

## Fix

- Upgrade Apache Kylin to `5.0.5`.
- Until upgraded, keep Kylin off public networks.

## Timeline
