# Android: race condition in user data removal allows local denial of service

A race condition in the Android device policy service's removeUserData routine can be triggered to cause a denial of service. An attacker needs only user-level privileges on the device and no user interaction.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In removeUserData of DevicePolicyManagerService.java, there is a possible denial of service due to a race condition. This could lead to local denial of service with User execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
