# Android: telephony provider permission check lets a local app read data

A logic error in the Android telephony provider's query permission check lets an app bypass access control. An attacker gets local information disclosure without extra privileges and without user interaction.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In checkQueryPermission of TelephonyProvider.java, there is a possible permission bypass due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
