# Android ProviderUtil: logic error leaks data across user accounts

A logic error in getSelectionBySubIds in ProviderUtil.java can expose data belonging to one user to another user on the same device. An attacker with a local app gets read access to information it should not see, with no extra privileges and no user interaction.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In getSelectionBySubIds of ProviderUtil.java, there is a possible cross-user data leak due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
