# Android: logic error in activity navigation lets apps bypass permissions

A logic error in the navigateUpTo function of Android's ActivityClientController lets a locally installed app skip a permission check. The result is local escalation of privilege with no extra execution rights needed and no user interaction.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In navigateUpTo of ActivityClientController.java, there is a possible permission bypass due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
