# Android: heap overflow in WiFi interface code allows local privilege escalation

A heap buffer overflow in set_type4_frame_classifier in sta_iface.cpp, a WiFi station interface component, can cause memory corruption. A local attacker could use it to escalate privileges without extra execution rights and without user interaction.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In set_type4_frame_classifier of sta_iface.cpp, there is a possible memory safety issue due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
