Windows Presentation Foundation in .NET 8, 9 and 10 mishandles specially crafted XAML input, a code injection flaw (CWE-94). An attacker who gets such input parsed can elevate privileges on the affected Windows system.
Summary written from the sources below. Check the originals before acting.

Only Windows applications built on WPF, the desktop UI framework, in .NET 8, 9 or 10 are exposed, and the flaw is reached when the app parses XAML that an attacker can influence. Applications that run only on other platforms or never load user-supplied XAML can skip it, but self-contained WPF deployments must be rebuilt even if the machine runtime is patched.

Microsoft is releasing this security advisory to provide information about a vulnerability in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). This advisory also provides guidance on what developers can do to update their applications to remove this vulnerability.
An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) in .NET 8, .NET 9, and .NET 10 when parsing specially crafted XAML input. An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could elevate privileges on the affected system.

If using a package listed in affected packages, you're exposed to the vulnerability.
dotnet --info command.Once you have installed the updated runtime or SDK, restart your apps for the update to take effect.
Additionally, if you've deployed self-contained applications targeting any of the impacted versions, these applications are also vulnerable and must be recompiled and redeployed.
