# HCL AION 2.6.0 GenAI web interface: open redirect to login URL can be used for phishing

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-35105 (this .md is for agents)

In HCL AION 2.6.0, the GenAI web interface's session handling (UserContext component, line 78) redirects to a login page whose URL comes from build configuration (NEXT_PUBLIC_LOGIN_URL) without validating the destination. HCL says this may be used in phishing attacks. HCL rates it CVSS 4.7 and fixes it in 2.8.0.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:HCL AION affected 2.6.0 fixed 2.8.0

## How to check

Check your HCL AION version; HCL lists V 2.6.0 as affected by this CVE. Also check 2.7.0 with HCL support, since the bulletin does not list it for this CVE. Also check whether NEXT_PUBLIC_LOGIN_URL is set in your GenAI web UI build configuration.

## Fix

Upgrade to HCL AION v2.8.0 (HCL says the upgrade remediates this; HCL AION support assists with the upgrade).

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T14:46:27+00:00 analyst https://support.hcl-software.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0135118 — Read HCL bulletin KB0135118 (published 4 Nov 2026): lists CVE-2026-35105 as affecting HCL AION V 2.6.0, remediated in v2.8.0 via upgrade with HCL support. No exploitation or PoC seen. Bulletin does not say whether 2.7.0 is affected by this CVE (only lists 2.6.0). Did not search X; low-conversation item.

## Documents

- [advisory] HCL Security Bulletin KB0135118: Multiple security vulnerabilities affect HCL AION https://support.hcl-software.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0135118

## From the sources

HCL AION is affected by an open redirect vulnerability in the session-handling logic of the GenAI web interface (UserContext component, line 78). The redirect to the login page used a URL taken from build configuration (NEXT_PUBLIC_LOGIN_URL) without validating the redirect destination. This may be used in phishing attacks, potentially resulting in unintended behavior or security impact under certain conditions.
