# TrueConf Client downloads application update code and applies it without performing verification

TrueConf Client downloads update code without verifying its integrity, so an attacker who can influence the update delivery path can swap in a tampered payload. If the updater runs or installs that payload, the attacker gets code execution in the context of the updating process or user.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:TrueConf Client affected ? fixed ?
- vendor:trueconf affected < 8.5.3.884 fixed 8.5.3.884

## Fix

Apply the vendor mitigation per TrueConf instructions, or discontinue use of the TrueConf Client if mitigations are unavailable (CISA KEV required action). Fixed version: unknown.

## From the sources

TrueConf Client contains a download of code without integrity check vulnerability. An attacker who is able to influence the update delivery path can substitute a tampered update payload. If the payload is executed or installed by the updater, this may result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the updating process or user.

CISA required action: Apply mitigations per vendor instructions, follow applicable BOD 22-01 guidance for cloud services, or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
