# HCL AION: user input in HTTP headers allows header injection and response splitting

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-21850 (this .md is for agents)

HCL AION includes user-controlled input in HTTP response headers without stripping CR/LF characters. An attacker can inject extra headers or split the response, which can lead to unintended behavior under certain conditions.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T14:42:11+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-21850

## From the sources

HCL AION is affected by a vulnerability where user-controlled input could be included in HTTP response headers without proper neutralization of CR/LF characters. This may allow an attacker to inject headers or split responses, potentially resulting in unintended behavior or security impact under certain conditions.
