# adsp: use-after-free lets a system-privileged process escalate privileges

A use-after-free bug in the adsp component can be used for privilege escalation. An attacker must already hold System privilege on the device, and the flaw gives them a further local escalation.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## From the sources

In adsp, there is a possible escalation of privilege due to use after free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS11431474; Issue ID: MSV-9926.
