# SonicWall SonicOS SSLVPN: SAML and MFA bypass via alternate login method

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-19868 (this .md is for agents)

SonicWall SonicOS SSLVPN, the VPN service on SonicWall firewalls, can let a user who holds valid credentials for an alternate authentication method skip SAML login controls. A successful attack may also bypass SAML-enforced multi-factor authentication.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:SonicWall SonicOS SSLVPN affected range not listed fixed no fixed version listed

## How to check

- Confirm whether the SSLVPN service is enabled on the SonicWall firewall and which SonicOS version is running (`unknown` if the sources do not give the check)
- Check whether SAML authentication is configured for SSLVPN logins
- Review the SonicOS version against the fixed version list in the vendor advisory (not provided in the sources)

## From the sources

SonicWall SonicOS SSLVPN contains a use of single-factor authentication vulnerability that may allow a user with valid credentials for an alternate authentication method to bypass SAML authentication controls. Successful exploitation may also bypass SAML-enforced multi-factor authentication (MFA).

CISA required action: Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable. Stakeholders are responsible for evaluating each asset's internet exposure and ensuring adherence to BOD 26-04 patching guidelines.
