# IBM API Connect: broken access checks expose keystore information to users

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17405 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 do not check whether a logged-in user may read keystore objects. A remote authenticated attacker can therefore read keystore information they should not see.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:IBM API Connect affected >= 10.0.8.0, <= 10.0.8.12; >= 12.1.0.0, <= 12.1.1.2 fixed 10.0.8.13, 12.1.1.3

## How to check

Check your API Connect version: 10.0.8.0-10.0.8.12 or 12.1.0.0-12.1.1.2 is affected. Fixed: 10.0.8.13, 12.1.1.3. Any account that can sign in to the API Connect management interface/API can reach it.

## Fix

Upgrade to API Connect 10.0.8.13 (IBM bulletin) or 12.1.1.3 (per CVE record vendor solution; 12.1.1.3 bulletin text read was truncated). No workaround stated.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:46:07+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17405
- 2026-11-07T06:05:36+00:00 analyst https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7295637 — IBM bulletin node/7295637 lists CVE-2026-17405 (CVSS 8.8) fixed in 10.0.8.13. 12.1.1.3 fix comes from the CVE record via OpenCVE; the 12.1.1.3 bulletin text I got was truncated before this CVE, so that part is unconfirmed. No interim fix or exploitation seen.

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information due to broken object-level authorization. Access checks on keystore objects do not confirm that the requesting user is permitted to read them, which could expose keystore information.
