# IBM API Connect: LDAP injection grants admin access to other tenants

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17392 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 do not neutralize user input in LDAP directory queries. A logged-in attacker can alter those queries and gain administrative access to other tenants.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:API Connect affected >= 10.0.8.0, <= 10.0.8.12 fixed 10.0.8.13

## How to check

- Check your API Connect version. IBM's bulletin lists V10.0.8.0 through V10.0.8.12 as affected; 10.0.8.13 is the fix.
- NVD also lists 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2. IBM's bulletin does not list 12.1, so treat 12.1.x as possibly affected and ask IBM or check Fix Central for 12.1.1.3.
- The bulletin does not say LDAP must be configured. The flaw is in LDAP directory queries, so check whether any user registry or sign-in uses LDAP.

## Fix

Upgrade API Connect 10.0.8.x to 10.0.8.13 (IBM bulletin). For 12.1.x, IBM's bulletin for this CVE does not list 12.1; v12.1.1.3 exists but its release page names no CVEs, so whether it fixes this is unconfirmed.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:46:07+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17392
- 2026-11-07T05:48:54+00:00 analyst https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/security-bulletin-multiple-vulnerabilities-ibm-api-connect-41 — IBM bulletin (-41) read: affects V10.0.8.0-10.0.8.12, fix 10.0.8.13, workarounds/mitigations: None. 12.1 range comes from NVD only; v12.1.1.3 page lists no CVEs, so 12.1 fix unconfirmed. No exploitation or PoC found.

- [mentions] IBM API Connect v12.1.1.3 is now available https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7290205

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to gain unauthorized administrative access to other tenants due to LDAP injection. User-supplied input is not properly neutralized in directory queries, which could change the query and grant access beyond the user's own tenant.
