# IBM API Connect: LDAP injection leaks extra directory data to remote attackers

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17389 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 do not neutralize input in LDAP directory lookups. A remote attacker can craft queries that return more data than intended from the connected LDAP directory.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed API Connect version against the affected ranges 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2.
- Check whether API Connect is configured to use an LDAP directory for authentication or lookups.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:46:06+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17389

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information from the connected LDAP directory due to LDAP injection. Input is not properly neutralized in directory lookups, which could cause queries to return additional data.
