# IBM API Connect: authenticated users can modify other users' profiles

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 fail to check whether a logged-in user may change a given profile. A remote attacker with a valid account can alter user profile information belonging to others.

## How to check

Check the installed API Connect version: affected if V10 is 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12, or V12 is 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2. Fixed at 10.0.8.13 and 12.1.1.3.

## Fix

Upgrade to API Connect 10.0.8.13 (V10) or v12.1.1.3 (V12, Fix Central: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7290205). IBM lists no workarounds.

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to modify user profile information due to broken object-level authorization. Access checks do not confirm that the user is permitted to change the targeted profile.
