# IBM API Connect: authenticated users can act in other tenants' environments

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17284 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 do not properly validate client-supplied tenant context. A logged-in attacker can perform operations on resources belonging to other tenants.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:IBM API Connect affected >= 10.0.8.0, <= 10.0.8.12; >= 12.1.0.0, <= 12.1.1.2 fixed 10.0.8.13, 12.1.1.3

## How to check

Check the API Connect version: affected are 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2. Only matters if more than one tenant/org shares the deployment and non-fully-trusted users can log in.

## Fix

Upgrade IBM API Connect 10.0.8.x to 10.0.8.13, or 12.1.x to 12.1.1.3 (per IBM's CVE record; fix packs on IBM Fix Central).

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:46:01+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17284
- 2026-11-07T06:22:50+00:00 analyst https://app.opencve.io/cve/CVE-2026-17284 — Fix versions (10.0.8.13, 12.1.1.3) taken from the IBM CVE record vendor solution as shown on OpenCVE (a rewrite). The IBM 10.0.8.13 bulletin page I fetched was truncated and I could not see CVE-2026-17284 listed, so nothing is marked verified. No exploitation or PoC seen; no vendor mitigation found.

## Documents

- [describes] CVE-2026-17284 - OpenCVE (carries IBM's CVE record and vendor solution) https://app.opencve.io/cve/CVE-2026-17284
- [mentions] IBM Security Bulletin: Multiple Vulnerabilities in IBM API Connect (10.0.8.13) https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7295637

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to perform unauthorized operations in other tenants' environments due to improper validation of client-supplied information. Tenant context is not sufficiently verified, which could allow actions on resources belonging to other tenants.
