# IBM API Connect: authenticated user can inject code via generated output

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17140 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 generate code using user-supplied input without proper control. A remote attacker with a valid account could use this to execute arbitrary code.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed API Connect version against the affected ranges: 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:45:59+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17140

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper control of generation of code. Input supplied by a user can influence code generated by the product, which could lead to code execution.
